App Setup & Troubleshooting

First of all thank you for purchasing the iHome Systems Smart Home App for iPad.

General Commands

Tap with three fingers to bring up the Dock, which is the icons toolbar at then bottom of the page (Home Page, Scenario, Status, Cameras, Settings).Tap with two fingers to Edit or finish Editing.

After downloading the iHome systems App from iTunes, launch the App by pressing on the iHome Systems icon.

Tap the screen with three fingers which will make the Dock appear at the bottom of the screen.

Setting IP Address

Set the IP address to match the address of your Web Server. If you would like a Password for editing, click on “Allow Editing” and push “Off” to input Password. If you forget your Password, you can use the first 8 digits of the UDID code of your iPad.

Navigator Bar Name

Prefix Input your name or the name of your house. We suggest that you use your name followed by an apostrophe “s” (‘s). This name will appear at the top of the Home Page, e.g. “John’s iHome Systems.” Press “Done” when you have finished editing Settings

 

Home Page

Adding Rooms

Press the “+” icon at the top right corner. Input the name of the room and upload the photo of the room by pressing the “Tap to Add Image” icon. When you have uploaded 6 rooms and are about to upload the photo of the next room, the photo for room 7 will automatically be uploaded to the next page. To access the next page, simply slide the page to the left with your finger.

Note: Each page has a 6 photo capacity so the next set of photos will appear on the next pages

 

Room Page

Adding Icons

Select one room from the Home Page to begin

Tap on the “+” icon on the upper right corner which contains a list of different icons: Lights, A/C, etc.
+ Lights: 4 icons (Press > on the left of the “Icon” field to select the light icon)
+ AC & Heating: 2 icons (Press > on the left of the “Icon” field to select the AC or heating icon)
+ Outlet: 1 icon

Choose the icon you would like, input the name for the icon, then press “Save.”

The chosen icon will appear on the room page.

Press down on the icon, hold and drag to move the icon to the appropriate fixture you wish for the icon to control.

Repeat this until you have an icon to control every function desired

Interface

Normal or dimmer

Exit Edit Mode

Tap once with two fingers to end Edit mode.

Turning Lights ON/OFF or dimming lights

To turn lights on/off, tap once to turn on and tap again to turn off.

When lights are on, the icon will change to yellow; when light is off icon will change to white
- To dim lights, hold and drag finger to the left or light.

The bar on the dim icon will show the extent the light is dimmed up or down. When a light is turned on the icon will change to yellow; when light is off icon will change to white.

 

Scenario

Adding Scenario

Different Types of Scenario
: Global Scenario, Room Scenario.

Global Scenario: On the Home Page, press the Scenario icon on the Dock, then press “+” icon to add scenario and type in the Scenario you wish to set (i.e. Welcome, Good Night, Party, etc.). This will add a Scenario for the whole house
Room Scenario.

Room Scenario: Press the room you would like to add/revise a Scenario then press the Scenario icon. Press “+” icon and type in the name of the Scenario you wish to set (i.e. Welcome, Good Night, Party, etc.). This will add a Scenario to the specific room.

Deleting Scenario

Press “Edit” icon at the top left corner, press the red circle, then press the “Delete” button on the right

 

Status

To check the status of the whole house: While on the “Home Page” press on the Status icon on the Dock. This will show how many lights (x/total number) and power circuits are on for the whole house

To check the status of a room: Select the room of the house, then press the Status icon on the Dock. This will show how many lights (x/total number) and power circuits are on for that particular room

 

Cameras

Tap on the Camera icon on the Dock. Tap once with 2 fingers to select “Edit” mode

Click “+” at the top right, input name of the Camera/area to be monitored, and select which camera (i.e. Camera 1, Camera 2, Camera 3, etc.) will have this name/monitor this area. Repeat this step until all cameras have been programmed.
